The Altitude Factor

The Altitude Factor

Posted by dawn on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 9:49am (PST)

Earlier this week it hit a rare 90 degrees on the North Shore and it is hot. If it weren’t for the breeze at Diamond Peak, and occasional afternoon thunderstorms, it can feel as if the temperature might reach up to 100. But it has never gotten that hot in Tahoe, or has it? I can’t recall how oft... Add Comment

I'm seeing green..

Posted by dawn on Friday, December 12, 2008 4:19pm (PST)

I'm talking about green on the radar, peeps. The weather forecast is reporting snow as early as 7pm tonight! Our General Manager just came in from outside and said with a grin, "it feels like it's cold enough to be snowing out right now." Temps are dropping fast, and they are just going to... Add Comment

Are we there yet??

Are we there yet??

Like a child on a long car trip, I keep on finding mysel... Add Comment

On Friday you would have thought it was the middle of winter with the way the temps were dipping and the snow was flying. Not the best recipe for my daughter's soccer game, but they pla... First Rain

Posted by dawn on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 4:20pm (PST)

I encountered the first rain we've seen in months while attending a friend's wedding on the beach on Saturday. They say it's lucky to have rain on your wedding day, or is it just ironic? In spite of the circumstances, it was quite a day to remember. We were even treated to a spectacular rainbow over... Add Comment

That Fall chill is in the air!

Posted by dawn on Monday, September 29, 2008 9:07am (PST)

Happy Fall!
You can definitely feel a chill in the air these days. This morning on my drive to work, my car thermostat read a brisk 41 degrees. I thought "only 10 more degrees and it would be freezing!" Our extended forecast shows it dipping into the 30's this week! Does that give you a ... Add Comment
