It's a beautiful 50 degrees out today. Unfortunately, the small storm system last week did not produce much. At this point we are in need of a really huge storm, and low daytime temps, but from the the weather forecast it's not looking too promising. What about a December 11th opening? Well, I can tell you that we do need top to bottom coverage in order to open the resort, and as of now, we have um…a very long way to go. Keep checking back for updates.
On the upside, we are looking forward to our base lodge grand opening celebration this Saturday from 3-5 pm. If you haven't RSVP'd, you can do so online. (Please excuse our dust due to finishing touches to the renovation still underway.) It’ll be a great time to check out our beautiful new base lodge, catch some live music and try to win some really cool raffle prizes. Hope to see you there!
Another way we are preparing for the season is by way of some exciting mountain upgrades. Our Red Fox lift has a new electronic drive system this season and so does Schoolhouse. The Schoolhouse lift has also had its towers lowered by at least 8 feet, to make it safer for beginners. In the words of Carlo, Lift Operations Supervisor, the other 4 chairlifts are "rockin' and ready to go!"
Now if we could only say that about the snow…
