Heavenly Spring Skiing

I just got in from skiing and it was heavenly! The morning is the best this time of year to get out there, and then you can save the latter half of the day for sunning and enjoying your choice of beverages on the deck. I took a run down Popular first to get warmed up, and it was really nice, impeccably groomed, and I flew almost straight down it. So I figured if Popular was that good, I would have to go up Crystal next. The ride up was stunning; it is such a beautiful day. I came down The Great Flume which was nice in the middle and a little crispy on the edges. After coming off of Flume, I got a little air off of one jump at the bottom of the terrain park. I enjoy skiing that area that spans the perimeter stretch of the terrain park on Spillway. I don't think there's an official name for that area, (other than "Spillway" obviousy) but I call it "the waves" because it feels a little like a roller coaster or going over waves, and it is just fun skiing. Next, I went up Crystal again and came down Crystal Ridge which was breathtaking, and Sunnyside. That whole span down Crystal Ridge and Sunnyside was so good, so nicely groomed that I had to do it again. After that, I decided I'd better go back to work at some point but changed my mind at the last minute, and took one last ride up the Lakeview lift and one more run down Popular. It was so good I really didn't want to come back to work! Did I mention it was heavenly?

Dawn, you've got me DROOLING! Haven't been up for a couple of weeks, and your news about the great snow on the slopes has got me pumped for at least one more shot before closing day. You mentioned skiing Popular a couple of times, ever try Show Off (upper and lower)? That's a fave for me..I'll be there this week for sure :=) See ya!

Hi Dave, Yes! You must come out before the end of the season. BTW, out projected closing date is April 12th (that is THIS Sunday!) BUT we may remain open an additional week and will make the call this Wednesday. Check back. I'll post it in my blog when I get in on Thursday, or give us a call. And about Showoff.. it is a favorite of both my husband and even my 11 year old daughter, but I'm a little intimidated by the upper area. I'm thinking next year, it may be time for some lessons so I can enjoy more of this wonderful mountain! Have fun skiing, stop by and say hi. :)
