Title: Diamond Peak a Gem

…”Because of the close proximity of the parking lot to Diamond Peak’s slopes, it’s a good area to choose if you want to split your day between boarding and skiing.

‘I am a beginning boarder, so I usually spend the first part of the day snowboarding and then go to the car and switch out for skis at lunchtime,’ said East Shore resident Ralph Myrehn. ‘Plus, Diamond Peak has about the best hamburgers at the lake’.”

7. Ski Gem: Diamond Peak, Incline Village, Nevada -- Adult lift ticket: $48

With a wide range of terrains, Diamond Peak enables skiers of all levels to enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Tahoe. Skiers can take full advantage of the scenery by riding the Lakeview Quad lift, featuring fantastic views on the ascent, and making this precious gem worth every cent. Of course, skiers will enjoy the mountain's excellent trails, and the excitement Lake Tahoe has to offer. As one TripAdvisor traveler said, "Weekends are never crowded, and during the week, you'll feel guilty that they are running the lift just for you."

My wife, 2 small boys and I recently returned from Lake Tahoe where we spent 3 days skiing at Diamond Peak. I hadn't been skiing in 35 years, my wife not in 21 and it was the first time for my boys (ages 5 and 7). Let me say that the program that they have in place for teaching
children is second to none. Once you have signed the child in for the lesson and paid the tab (not too steep) they take care of everything. Never more than 5 children to a teacher. Breaks for snacks and a great nuturing place. I recommend it highly for folks who want to get their kids started and go skiing themselves while the kids are in class.
As a relative novice, I can't speak for how an advanced skiier would like Diamond Peak, but the lesson (with teacher Jake) was great. In two hours I was skiing down the easy slopes. Neither my wife nor I wiped out ONCE and we had a great time.
The rental shop is quick, reasonable and the equipment is first rate. For $74 we got a beginner lesson, rental and all day lift ticket. We can't wait to go back next year!

“All Tahoe’s resorts boast beautiful lake views, but Diamond Peak’s tops them all.”

Title: Less Known But Full Blown

“Another one of Tahoe’s smaller resorts, Diamond Peak offers some of the best views of Lake Tahoe and a nice variety of terrain for a smaller mountain. The crowds are light as most Tahoe visitors flock to the famous places. Rumor has it that they put together one of the better jump lines in Tahoe last season."

Here are the reasons I like Diamond Peak during weekdays:
- Parking close to the base.
- Close to a few restaurants if you want to eat outside the resort.
- Friendly staff.
- the Other Repair Shop mechanic is cool.
- $5 board wax

I lost my car keys in one of my many falls. I was trying sharp turns and quick stops and was prone to falling. Someone turned it in.  Amazing!

All in all a great area. Some guys were teaching their girlfriends/wives how to snowboard and that was cool. The parents teaching their kids was touching. I cannot believe how slow I am compared to some kids, they are not scared of anything.

All in all a great day of snowboarding.

Recommend: Yes
Will I go back: Yes
Romantic: Yes, if one of you is teaching the other and one falls and the other is there to talk you into getting back up and keep going.

It is nearly impossible for me to be objective about Diamond Peak. For me this is like rating your backyard as a kid growing up. I started skiing here in 1974(it was Ski Incline then) and put in many seasons where I skied more than 100 days at this resort.

First if you have kids that need to learn how to ski, this is the place. The
Bee Ferrato Child Ski Center is perhaps the best children's ski school in the country. Bee is a dynamic Kiwi who has literally written the book, in cooperation with a child education phd, on how to teach children skiing. I am a little biased since I worked for her but she and her ski school are wonderful.

Second this place is never closed because of wind or storms. I have had some epic powder days at
Diamond Peak when every other resort in the basin is shut down.

Huge Storm? Don't worry. Go to Diamond Peak. Even in the worst and heaviest snows, the only place you feel it is at the top of the main quad. It's sheltered and wooded and (sadly) kinda small.  But I've had some of the best powder days here, while Alpine, Squaw and Sugar were all on "wind-hold".

Intimate feel.  Great for teaching that special someone you can't live without, the only thing you REALLY can't live without.  Try getting warm alcoholic concoctions at the little Snowflake Lodge.

Dear Diamond Peak Family,

The Wilson & Panagopoulos families really appreciate your coordination in helping Reid plan his special proposal to present his "diamond" on your "peak". Putting your photo on your website and in the Bonanza was terrific. Only outdone by having Pete and Santa arrive right on time at high noon. Heather, Brian, Kayla, Pete and Santa et al were so cordial and made our day possible and special. Thanks for allowing us atop. Happy New Year to all.

I would like to give a huge thanks to Clay, who drove us down the mountain. He was above and beyond kind to everyone, treated them with respect, and had a great sense of humor. He makes a great contribution to your facility with his exceptional customer service.

To the Great Crew at Diamond Peak:

I just wanted to congratulate all of the people at Diamond Peak for one of the best seasons ever. I know we had plenty of snow and conditions were ideal, but that verified the fact that you do it so well. Your heplfulness and cheerful attitudes  were the same last year when we had bad conditions. Anyone can be upbeat when things are going well. But your attitude and customer service remain consistant whether the conditions are good or bad. That requires good people, good training and a team atmosphere. Congratulations on a job well done. I ordered my season pass for next year a month ago. I can hardly wait.
